Aldona Walk

by TravelCurators Editorial | 11 March 2010 | | 1 comments

The beautiful and pristine village of Aldona is part of the Bardez Taluka of North Goa. The village is at its best during the monsoon with green paddy fields all around you...

Begin the walk at 431, Udoim Vaddo, the house of Xisto Mascarenhas, the village buff and angler. His house is an example of 18th century Goan domestic architecture. He takes a group of 10 people for a 30-minute walk which begins from his home.  On the way you will see the house of his sister-in-law Veronica who shares her quota of memories.

Visit the village bakery for samosas and chicken rolls. Walk up to the main road to see the Ghost House and the fishing bridge which is a high point of social life in the village. Here you can meet the Ramponnkars (fishermen).
