Travel Wise

  • Please do not ignore travel insurance whenever you travel. In addition to the medical expenses, the policy also covers your money and other belongings. Look for a 24-hour medical emergency contact number. Make sure you are insured for all activities you intend to do. Find out policies that cover adventure activities as well.
  • Carry luggage based on your carrier restrictions
  • Women travellers should be dressed to suit the area. Topless bathing and nudism is illegal and disrespectful to the locals. Although Goa is a safe destination irrespective of the gender, it is advisable to dressed appropriately late in the evenings if travelling alone.
  • Carry along long sleeve cotton clothes to protect you from sunburn and to reduce the need to use a sunscreen
  • Carry your wallet in a travel wallet under your clothing
  • Please carry all trash in a bag to avoid littering
  • Do not accept eatables or open bottles from an unknown person
  • Smoking in public places is banned. You may have to pay a heavy fine.
  • Please speak to the life guards before you start swimming in the sea. Avoid swimming after eating or drinking.
  • Keep the local helpline numbers handy in case of emergency
